Healing Is In Your Hands

Below are the lyrics to a new worship song from the Passion CD that has really spoken to me, the title is Healing is In Your Hands:

"No mountain, no valley, no gain or loss we know could keep us from Your love
No sickness, no secret, no chain is strong enough
to keep us from Your love to keep us from Your love

How high, how wide No matter where I am,
healing is in Your hands
How deep, How strong, And now by Your grace I stand,
healing is in Your hands

Our present, our future, our past is in Your hands
We're covered by Your blood We're covered by Your blood

How high, How wide no matter where I am,
healing is in Your hands
How deep, How strong
And now by Your grace I stand,
healing is in Your hands

In all things, we know that
We are more than conquerors
You keep us by Your love"

Its just had me thinking about how often we need healing...not only physical but emotional and spiritual healing as well. And what a blessed assurance to KNOW that absolutely NOTHING can keep up from being healed by His love! Every part of my being, every part of my past, every part of my present, every single detail of my future is in His hands! By His grace I will stand and conquer anything the enemy may throw at me from my past, condemn me with in the present or scare me with in the future! How awesome is our God??!!!!

All I ever needed to know...

First of all, if you haven't read the piece below...take time to read it, really read it!

"All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten.

ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten.

Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School.

These are the things I learned:

Share everything.

Play fair.

Don't hit people.

Put things back where you found them.

Clean up your own mess.

Don't take things that aren't yours.

Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Flush.

Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and playand work every day some.

Take a nap every afternoon.

When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.

Be aware of wonder.

Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup:The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die.So do we.

And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere.

The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation.

Ecology and politics and equality and sane living.

Take any of those items and extrapolate it intosophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm.Think what a better world it would be if all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down withour blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had a basic policy to always put things back where they found them and to clean up their own mess. And it is still true, no matter how old you are - when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together."

This poem has been going through my head all morning as I registered Landri for Kindergarten. Though there are some simple little truths, and some a little silly, there are plenty here I want for her. I want her to share, to play fair, to clean up her own mess and to always do unto others as she would have them do unto her.

I want her to live a balanced life and enjoy those around her, and learn to treasure the precious moments she has with those who are dear, knowing time flies quickly and they won't be by her side forever.

I want her to LOOK and see the world through the eyes of Jesus...to see people as He sees them and to love them with an unconditional love. I want her to walk boldy and upright and to always seek His approval above that of man's. I want her to live a life worthy of imitation that will point those around her to her Father above.

I want her to know that her mommy and daddy love her a WHOLE lot and I want her big brother to always walk beside her and protect her.

I want her to make lots of friends and surround herself with a few precious ones that will hold her accountable as she grows and when she has to face the world, they are there beside her...
to hold her hand.

Discouragement and Prayers

Do you ever have days when you are just discouraged from encouraging? That may sound really lame and is, I'm sure, really shallow, but I'm just being real! There are days that I feel like all I do is try and try and try and get nothing in return...know what I mean? You call, you text, you email, you send cards, etc. etc. etc. You pour! You pour! You pour! And the cup is dry! Its like my cup just keeps pouring til the very last drop is gone and I thirst! But oh the blessed fountain that fills me up time and time again!
I'm reminded more and more over each passing day that He is always there! He's always enough! AND He is always ready to fill my cup to overflowing, so that I may be used of Him however He sees fit! I'm not really sure how folks live without having Jesus as that constant in their lives. I've grown up always knowing that He loved me and cared for me...what do you do without that knowledge?? So thankful for a godly family that made sure I knew the truth!
Okay, so now that you know how shallow I can be let me share something great that happened yesterday:
I was not having a very good day (to say the least!) and could not reach any of my "prayer partners" and really needed one at the time! Then out of the blue, I get a text from a precious friend in Mississippi that read: "Was just sitting here at lunch memorizing scripture and praying. Felt led to say a prayer for you and whatever you're facing today. Thanks for being a friend!" How cool is that??!!! Just a little way of God filling my cup!! My day didn't get better immediately, but by the time I crawled in bed last night I could look back over the day and see His hands holding me through the whole 24 hours! He held me by leading a friend in another state to pray for me. He held me in a hug from a friend. He held me as I read and listened to His word. He held me over dinner with a precious, young friend who is wise beyond her 18 years! He held me as I walked into my home to a wondeful husband and two precious children! He's holding us...every day, in every little way! Now, I'm encouraged! :)

Finish the Race!

Yesterday morning, our pastor (who happens to be my sweet hubby!) told us about an Olympian who ran in a race and came in dead last, way behind everyone else. When asked why did he even bother finishing, knowing he had lost and would be the very last person to cross the finish line, he replied, "My country did not send me to the Olympics to start the race, they sent me to finish the race."
God has done the same for us....He has sent us not to just start the race, but to finish it...and finish it well. Our primary goal is not success, but faithfulness...that is what He has called us to be...faithful! And to always point people to Him.
The same God who created the universe, flooded the earth, made the lame to walk, the blind to see, raised the dead, sent His Son to die for US, then sent His Spirit to live in us is the same God who hands us the torch to carry the light into the world today...will we take it? Will we do our part?
Some days I feel like my torch is more like the size of a tea light candle barely staying lit and other days its more like the Olympic flame, but regardless, His faithfulness NEVER changes! His faithfulness is the same...always! It never fails! His love never diminishes for us, no matter what we may do or not do. He loves us more than anything and desires for us to live for Him and serve Him and do everything for His glory! Not such a big task after what He's done for us.
I have to remember that those who have gone before us are in the stands now, cheering us on. They are our biggest supporters, encouraging us to finish the race. We may stumble, we may fall, but we MUST finish the race! Let's get up, brush off our knees and run this race in His strength and His grace....knowing there's gonna be quite a PARTY AT THE FINISH LINE!!!

Well, I did it!

I never dreamed I'd end up blogging my life, but here goes! It should be a fun ride!

Today has been spend waiting on a washing machine repairman to get here only to charge me nearly $60 to tell me my washer was capoot! (is that a word??!!) So, this afternoon I will be out shopping for a new washer/dryer combo and thanking the good Lord that I booked our Disney vacation yesterday!! haha!! my poor little preacher man...bless his heart!

I'll try to actually blog something of substance tomorrow, but for now I have to pick up kids, go by the store...buy a washer! and get to my Beth Moore Bible Study class...Breaking Free....and yes, I am...breaking free! God is so good and humbles me by His amazing grace and faithfulness!! He's great, folks!!!
